Like I mentioned last week, for me, marathon training isn’t much different from what I normally do…EXCEPT for weekend long runs. It’s honestly not as much running as I see some people/bloggers do, but it’s what worked for me last time so I’m sticking to it for now. I want to continue incorporating speed work each week because I’ve noticed how it helps me speed up overall. Shocker, right?!
Monday: 4 miles
Tuesday: 20 minutes of weights
Wednesday: 5 miles of speed work. After 1 mile warmup I did 3/4 mile intervals at faster than race pace. 1/4 mile recovery in between.
Thursday: Orange Theory (3.4 miles + lower body focus in the weight room)
Saturday: 8 miles + yoga
