April was a pretty darn good month. Aside from the emotional highs and lows, which are never-ending at this point, I’m sad to see it go. Florida was on very good behavior weather-wise, I saw family, friends, ran a half marathon, started the job search (is that good? bad??) and spent a lot of time outside.
In lieu of a “Currently” post, I’m going to share some of my favorites from the month…personal, fitness, food, etc.
Terez Leggings
My first favorite: the pants I’m wearing in the picture above. I’m so excited to be an ambassador for Terez, the most vibrant, energizing workout leggings in the business. Here I’m wearing their Dip Dye Denim Performance Leggings. They run true to size and are super comfortable (a requirement). You can get your own discount at checkout using the code: emilyj25.
Watermelon Radishes
Next, the food favorite of the month was a really odd one, I have to admit. I’m not even the biggest radish fan but, my goodness, these things are stunning. No filter on these photos!

Featured in a spring-like salad with arugula, shrimp, raspberries and parsnip fries
Books
Two books that I enjoyed/am enjoying: “The Vactioners” and “Defending Jacob.” The first is an easy read, but the second is deeper and keeping me hooked! I’m about a third of the way through.
Adult Coloring Books
The fact that I now own an adult coloring book kind of shows you where I am in life: not quite ready to grow up. In all seriousness, coloring the best de-stressor and break from social media. Instead of aimlessly scrolling through Instagram after dinner I’ve been coloring. In between the lines, I might add. I bought this one at Barnes & Nobles. They have a ton of options and themes!
Oxford Exchange
One of the most architecturally beautiful restaurants in Tampa is Oxford Exchange. I hadn’t been in months so my mom and I went for lunch last weekend (after going stand-up paddle boarding!). It was kind of nice to dress up for once, but don’t hold me to that statement. We sat in their sunroom so excuse the squinting eyes.
We ordered the same exact salad, no surprise. Kale, arugula, mixed greens with avocado, pumpkin seeds and chicken.
Elite Daily posts
I had two articles published on Elite Daily this month (actually, this week). My thoughts on this process is a post in itself, but in the meantime, I’m happy to have some more articles online. Both are quick, easy reads but hopefully provide some entertainment :)
College Won’t Be The Best 4 Years of Your Life, And That’s Perfectly Fine
4 Fitness Myths That Make You Feel Insecure About Your Workout Routine (a revised/updated take on this post)
What’s to come in May?
Off the top of my head…
-My sister is coming home from her freshman year soon and I’m excited to have a lazy-weekend buddy. Although, I’m contemplating making her do the BBG workouts with me. We’ll see if she reads this and protests.
-I’m running a 10k next weekend
-More time at the beach. Because, Florida.
-As for the blog, next month is my two-year blogiversary (blog anniversary). I have a few blogging-related post ideas along with a big giveaway to say thank you to everyone.
Enjoy your weekend!
A good month, indeed (I can’t believe it is almost over). I love those Terez leggings. Now that I work in the gym, I live in fully length leggings! Otherwise, I would literally freeze!
Susie @ SuzLyfe recently posted…Favorite Memories from Living in Streeterville
I’ve been in a full-length legging phase. Weird because it’s so hot right now. I like the ones that go over my heels!
Defending Jacob was an amazing book! I absolutely loved it…Oh geez I cannot remember the last time I dressed up for lunch, but it may happen tomorrow for Nantucket Daffodil Weekend! :) Have a fabulous weekend friend! XOXO

I am so hooked on that book! Oh Nantucket Daffodil Weekend sounds lovely. Hope you enjoyed :)
Still haven’t done the BBG workouts, but one day I will because they are on my list to try out! I can’t even think of the last time I dressed up to go out to eat, I know that I’ll be dressing up to go out to eat after graduation so that counts! haha

Oh yes, graduation events definitely count :)
You and your mom are beautiful! Also the color of those radishes is to die for. I actually love the peppery taste of the radish, they are also super cheap this time of year. I dress up every day that I have off. I don’t get to look nice at my job, so I bust out the dresses whenever I can :-)

Thanks, Ellie :) Considering I wear workout clothes 90% of the time (even when I’m not working out) it felt like a nice change. Hope you had a great weekend!
I must get those leggings, those are so cute. I also just got a coloring book that focuses on the psalms and I love it, it’s so relaxing!

Terez has an amazing array of leggings! The patterns are so colorful.
those radishes are beautiful! i need to look for those in my grocery store. ive been thinking about getting a coloring book to help me when i can’t fall asleep haha. the adult ones are so intricate i feel like i would definitely nod off after 5 minutes
I haven’t fallen asleep coloring yet, but I don’t doubt it will happen some day haha
Amazing pictures of the watermelon radishes.
They were such a good Whole Foods find!
How are you liking BBG? All I can see on IG is that people are obsessed! I completely agree with that college article you wrote. – there is so much more in the world for you to enjoy :) Have a wonderful weekend!
I only did it for about a week with my sister over Christmas break! The workouts were tough but doable. You’re right, people are obsessed!
Thanks, Kaitlin! Hope you had a great weekend too :)
I was SO excited when I saw you on elite daily! Also, you and your mom do the coolest things ever. I don’t know if I could pay my mom to try SUP haha
Sarah @pickyrunner recently posted…“But I don’t like yoga”
She was the one who wanted to do SUP in the first place! I’m so glad she suggested it :)
Those leggings are so cute! And congrats on your 2 articles for Elite Daily! That’s so exciting. Also I feel like I need to get one of these coloring books. I feel like a lot of them that I’ve seen look so intricate that they stress me out just by looking at it haha. But the one you have looks perfect!
Amanda @ ExploringLifeAndThings recently posted…Currently: April
Yeah I can see how it looks intricate. I guess I see it as an easy challenge that is somehow relaxing? Haha. There are tons of options though!
LOVE those leggings and adult coloring books! I sit here at work sometimes and just zen out coloring it’s the best!
Diana @ Live Lean Eat Green recently posted…Mother’s Day Gift Guide!
I spent a good hour coloring yesterday and totally thought it was just 20 minutes. Flew by!
Those leggings look awesome! How long have you been doing BBG workouts? I started it in February, got 5 weeks through, and stopped (oops). I’m restarting it again on Monday haha. I love them, but mostly because I’m not a group fitness kind of person and enjoy working out at home. :)
My sister and I did two weeks of BBG over Christmas break but since then I haven’t done more than one or two of those workouts on my own. I loved doing them with her (she made it fun) so hopefully we can do them more regularly!
Last time I dressed up for dinner was my mom’s birthday in March, but next time will be a week from now since my boyfriend and I are going to a couple of really nice restaurants on our upcoming trip to Maine! Including, which I’m looking forward to, a really cool one called Vinland that is totally GF and local (like, they use only buckwheat grown in Maine, no lemons because you can’t grow them in Maine, etc).
Alyssa @ renaissancerunnergirl recently posted…My First Marathon Training Plan
I love those types of restaurants (local, farm-to-table). Plus, totally GF? It makes it much eating out so much easier! The Little Beet and Hu Kitchen may be the only 100% GF restaurants I’ve been too.
Yes, I love your leggings. Those watermelon radishes are also some of the most beautiful vegetables I’ve ever seen! I’m also 100% with you on adult coloring books. :)

I’m in awe of those radishes! I want to try roasting them because I’d probably prefer the taste that way.
Those leggings are so cute! I love coloring so much. It is seriously so relaxing! Wishing you a happy and healthy month of May :)

I can’t believe I dismissed the coloring book idea for so long. It was a really good purchase!
I love your leggings. And congrats on the Elite Daily articles! I think you know I 100% relate to the one about college, but it’s always nice to see I’m not alone there :) Have a lovely weekend!

You and your mom are so cute! What a gorgeous restaurant, too, and that salad sounds awesome. Major congratulations on having two articles published by Elite Daily- so cool!
Thanks, Liv! Pretty sure I’m going back there to lunch this week and I will probably order the same salad :)
I’m going to the beach today, so excited! I am going to check out those books you recommended, I am in desperate need of some reading material. Hope you’re having a great weekend girl!
