Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! I seriously have no clue what time it is. All I know is that I have 7 hours left of a 10 hour flight back home (second flight of the day) and that the $20 WiFi purchase was absolutely necessary.
I feel like I write a lot about “disconnecting,” whether from social media or daily routine. Well, nothing I’ve previously done to “disconnect” compares to going out of the country and immersing myself in a different culture. Kind of an extreme (and 99% of the time impossible) solution, but, hey, it worked. I did post occasionally on Instagram and Snapchat but that was the extent of my social media (and blogging) interaction. Same thing with the regular media/news…aside from the debate and the Eagles game, I know nothing from the last week. Now, I’m not sure if I should start fresh or catch up on everything. Luckily I have a few good hours left to decide a course of action…
As for my trip, well, I have a lot to say. Most of it has nothing to do with my actual trip (go figure) and I hope to eventually find the words to describe how I feel. In short: I feel refreshed. Physically, I’m extremely tired from the time change (that I never adjusted to), but mentally I’m refreshed and inspired. This trip also allowed me to look at my daily routine with a new set of eyes. I’m returning to the U.S. even more grateful for my little life.
I sound like a lame cliché.
I’ll post more about my trip next week, but for now…I’m ready to get off this plane and down a kombucha. If anything, a one week abstinence made me love it even more. 6 hours and 38 minutes to go….
I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend! I’m happy to be back online :)
xo,
Em
P.S. I’ll be catching up on comments right after I publish this post!
P.P.S. I’m probably THE worst at spacing out snacks for long trips. I finished everything within 2 hours. SOS.
I’m SO GLAD you had such an incredible time. It sounds like this was just what you needed and more :)
And I laughed out loud at your snacks comment. I always pack a bunch, eat them too soon, and end up regretting my decisions :P

YAY can’t wait to hear about it. I’m glad it was just what you needed :)
I am also terrible at spacing out snacks. It always seems like enough and then all of a sudden it’s all GONE.

It made me SO happy to see you go visit such a beautiful, amazing country as Italy. It’s so interesting that we both took like a week break off of blogging, and I feel really refreshed too. I’m bursting at the seams to hear about your trip.

Yay I’m glad you are feeling all sparkly and new now. Haha the snack issue, I was totally like that in school. I always wanted to eat the entire contents of my lunchbox during our first break.
