Happy April 1. Happy April Fool’s Day. I tried to think of a good blog prank but decided WIAW was a better way to go ;)
This semester, Monday’s are a very “college” day for me with few responsibilities. I used to hate having so much down-time, and I still do to an extent. However, I manage to fill my day just fine (with the help of naps and Netflix).
As I touched on how society glorifies being busy and have already shared a busy day-in-the-life, I thought it would be good to share a very non-busy day…including what I ate, of course.
6:30 a.m.– Wake-up (without an alarm) and check social media. I’ll admit, this is not a good habit to do first thing.
6:45 a.m.- Gym. I spend some quality time with Mike & Mike on the treadmill. I’m a big sports fan and Mike & Mike is my go-to morning show before the Today Show. I run 4 miles, stretch and do two one-minute planks.
7:45 a.m.– Shower, make bed, make breakfast.
8:00 a.m.- Eat breakfast (2 bowls of oatmeal with Barney Butter and strawberries) while reading blogs and watching the Today Show.

One day I’ll master oatmeal photography…
9:15 a.m.- Get ready for class and pack my bag for yoga.
10:00 – 11 a.m.- Slow flow yoga. I don’t normally go to this slow flow class but I was in the mood for it today.
11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.– Class. I only have one class on Monday, hence why it’s one of my favorite days.
1:00 p.m.– Get back to my apartment and make lunch. Please tell me you eat salads out of large mixing bowls, too? My salad had mixed greens + baby carrots + deli turkey + avocado + walnuts + Dijon dressing. Bad picture angle, I know.
1:20 p.m.– Quickly finish and submit an assignment that’s due at 2 p.m.
2:00 p.m.- Nap.
3:00 p.m.– Watch an episode of “The Blacklist,” my new favorite show.

4:00 p.m.– Start working on assignments due later in the week. I don’t feel as pressured on the weekends to “get ahead” in my classes because I know I have Monday to work. That can be a good thing and a bad thing.
I had a kombucha for a necessary “wake-me-up” snack while studying for a sports law exam.
5:00 p.m.– Start making dinner. I made lemon-rosemary chicken thighs (which I’ve been loving lately), zucchini noodles with sliced almonds and, of course, a sweet potato with coconut oil and cinnamon.
6:00 p.m.– Eat dinner.
6:30 p.m.– Homework and KIND projects. I put together goodie bags for an event I have later this week.
8:00 p.m.– Snack on an apple and almond butter. Trader Joe’s was completely out of creamy almond butter so I decided to branch out and try crunchy almond butter. I. Love. It. I used to be Team Creamy but I don’t know where I stand anymore. I ate it straight out of the jar with a plastic spoon, how college of me.
8:15 p.m.– Finish homework, read blogs, do some blog work.
9:30 p.m.– Pack my bag for the gym in the morning (I ALWAYS do this the night before).
9:45 p.m.– Watch another episode of “The Blacklist” before falling asleep.
Oh how I wish my Monday’s could be like this forever.
I miss college so much! I always hated Tuesday and Thursdays because classes were longer, and I tried to load up so I could have it easy on the other days. I would sometimes be in class from 8 until 3 (which now I laugh at because I’m at work every day from 7 to 4…missing those college days!). Enjoy it while you can :)
Yes, I hate Tuesday and Thursday for the same reason! Next year I have class T/Th from 9:30-4:45 (I do have a 2 hour break though). I definitely appreciate my schedule now!
Looks like your Mondays are very productive! Love blogs that share their meals throughout the day, always gives me new ideas.

I like looking at other people’s meals for that same reason. I tend to stick to the same foods so I can use all the inspiration I can get :)
Hahahaha “how college of me.” I only have one class on Fridays, which I love. I’ve always thought I was team creamy, but I’ve never tried crunchy almond butter, so I guess I don’t know!

Liking crunchy almond butter was a big awakening for me…try it!!!
Mixing bowl salads are my life! Nothing better than diving headfirst into a salad the size of my head…haha!
I’m a fan of the crunchy almond butter too – though I tend to love all things almond butter in general!
Sorta missing college at this moment – loved those days where I had only 1 class! I had a similar schedule – wakeup, gym, class, and a the rest of my day was catching up on work and shenanigans.
Have a good one, Emily! :)
P.S Double oatmeal bowls. Girl after my own heart!

It was because of you that I tried TJ’s almond butter so, in a way, I have you to thank for introducing me to crunchy almond butter. I kind of prefer the days when I have only one class rather than no class because it forces me to be somewhat productive :)
Totally eat my salad out of a mixing bowl. Glad I’m not the only one!

The fewer the dishes the better!
Giiirl, enjoy these kinds of Mondays while they last. I do miss the flexibility that college class schedules allowed. I was just like you, fitting in those workouts and down time. A nap?! I don’t even know what that word means anymore.. ;D
You’re team crunchy now?! Not sure how I feel about this. ;) Haha no, actually, some of my fave peanut butters have been crunchy ones, even though I totally identify with team smooth. It’s like I don’t even know who I am!

I’m taking FULL advantage of my Monday’s (and other non-busy days). Yeah I had a mini identity crisis when I discovered I like crunchy. Good thing I can have a spoonful of each when I want :)
I really don’t like any day :P But Monday’s are actually not bad!
And I’m totally team…BOTH!

Good thing we live in a world where we don’t have to choose between creamy and crunchy nut butter :)
As an undergrad I would always try not to have classes on Mondays and Fridays. It never happened but there were a few semesters that I didn’t have Friday classes! I’m in grad school now and I only have class two days a week (clinic the other days), it’s so nice!
I’ve never had kombucha but I’ve heard good things. Good luck on your test!
I have no class Friday and one class Monday, so I come pretty close to having a 4 day weekend every week. You need to try kombucha! I like Hibiscus and Gingerberry the best.
I only have on class on Fridays, and it’s from 9:30-10:50… so I guess that’s my favorite day? But for now I like all my classes pretty well, so most of my days are pretty good :)
I’ve always assumed I prefer creamy, but now that I think about it, I’ve never had crunchy! Who knows? Can nut butter really be bad, though? ;)

I always assumed I preferred creamy too. This was an eye-opening experience for me ;)
These are the days I think of when I miss college! (I obviously forget the 14+ hour days with class and homework.) When I do run on the treadmill after work, I really like Pardon the Interruption.

Yeah some days I love it and other days I wish I could run away from all of the homework and tests. I’ll take what I can get though :) Ah I love PTI! Watch it every night.
Just stopping by to give you a Blacklist high five. Because…it’s the best.
I just started last weekend and I’m addicted!
I’m sooooo jelly of u right now. I miss college days like that”! I work 50ish hrs a week so there r no naps anymore or today show. It sounds like u r enjoying it though so that’s good. One thing I didn’t realize back then was it was nice to have time during the week to do things like grocery store or go to the mall or doctor or run errands. Things like that take triple the time on the weekends but w work I really have no choice now.
I’m team creamy but I do love the blacklist!
I’m taking advantage of these days while they last. I know it won’t be like this forever! I hate running typical errands on the weekend because of crowds…it’s definitely a luxury to do them at random times during the week.
Love seeing this post – makes me miss college! I’m a big bowl salad eater for sure. Eating a ton of greens out of a huge bowl makes happier than I think it should.
Also, I had the exact same almond butter conundrum and felt the same way! Chunky ain’t so bad. TJs kills it with their A-butter
When I run out of this jar of crunchy AB (soon) I’m going to have to bite the bullet and make a choice between creamy or crunchy. Or I’ll just end up buying both…
Do you have a favorite kind of nut butter? I love reading people’s ‘WIAWs.’ Do you find you usually have time to make meals even with college work?

Ah difficult question. At the moment it’s a tie between Wild Friends and Trader Joe’s nut butters. Both almond and peanut butter.
