Let’s Chat: Back to the Grind

Time for some life catch-up! Grab your favorite beverage, it’s time to chat.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would tell you that the transition back to school never gets easier for me. Winter break was admittedly long (we college students are lucky), but it’s never easy leaving home. Luckily my family is coming to visit in a few weeks.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would question why people ask, “are you excited to go back to school?” Isn’t the answer implied? Ummm, no I’m not. Why would I willingly want to return to tests, quizzes and projects? Rant done.

If we were having coffee this morning… I’d admit that before going to my apartment on Sunday I went straight to Whole Foods for a small produce restock and dinner. Priorities, people.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would tell you that I plan to go to yoga at 5:30 this morning (writing this on Monday night). Fingers crossed I actually wake up.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would admit that that I already miss my mom’s Spiralizer. I have a vegetti-like tool in Miami but I think I need to invest in the real deal.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would tell you about one of my favorite birthday gifts. I actually can’t believe I didn’t tell you already…kettlebells! One 15 lb and one 20 lb. Neither my crappy apartment gym or campus gym has kettlebells so I’m excited to use them in my room for a quick workout. Go check out Pumps & Iron for some great workouts, both with kettlebells and without.

If we were having coffee this morning… I would ask about your summer plans. Yes, summer. I have some exciting opportunities brewing so my mind is already thinking that far ahead. I’m nervous-excited thinking about it, but lately the nerves have taken over.

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d want you to fill me in on your life!!!

Do you have summer plans already?

I go back to school next week and I’m not excited about it at all. All good things must come to an end I guess.

I wish my winter break had been a bit longer, actually! I;m on the quarter system, so ours was cut down from 3 weeks to 2, and I Was traveling in Japan for the majority of it. But yup, I totally agree with you on that no one ever wants to willingly go back to tests and studying haha!

I wanted to apply for an internship for summer and the deadline was October 15 of 2014! Like what?! Who plans that far in advance? Getting into a routine has been surprisingly nice :)

Sometimes I miss college, but then I realize I’m just romanticizing it. I don’t actually want to go back to homework and studying! I already have two summer marathons scheduled. I’m most excited to run Missoula and then go to Glacier National Park!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that you look so much like your mom – ask you about your vacation plans (we will be visiting the States around June) – and that I just had a delicious breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs & toast with peanut butter & sliced apples.

I’m very lucky to look like her :) I would ask YOU how you’re doing and if you’ve gotten any sleep lately! Where are you going in the US?

Can’t believe your break is over already. I must say, I’m a little jealous. I still have a week and a half left of break and I’m starting to get restless. I hope you have a great semester! Re-adjusting is always hard but it’s going to be great to have your family down soon!
If we were having coffee I’d talk about how much I’ve loved skiing over the past couple of days!

I think if I had another week I would have gotten restless too. Would you believe that I’ve never been skiing?! I don’t know if I’m coordinated enough!
