Hello and happy Friday! Is it snowing where you live? Hope you’re all stocked up on almond butter and wine, you know, the important things.

See previous “currently” posts: December, November, October, September, August

Current book: These “currently” posts should keep me accountable, but they’re failing in the book category. I was in the middle of “What Alice Forgot” (like I have been for a while) and stopped to read “It Starts With Food.” I finished that one but just picked “Alice” back up again. I very generously let my sister and mom read it during vacation so the delay isn’t completely my fault ;)

Current song: I’m having flashbacks to middle school and loving Panic! At the Disco’s “LA Devotee.” AWESOME workout song…give it a try. It’s on my most recent Spotify spinning playlist, too.

Current drink: Water. I’ve been so thirsty in the last week or so that I just can’t quench my thirst (#Gatorade)

Current guilty pleasure: Leisure (and slightly extravagant) breakfasts. I’ve been on a breakfast kick lately (see below) and have been taking extra time to make vegetables and potatoes fresh in the morning. Usually I make a big batch on the weekends but chopping and roasting in the morning doesn’t bother me because I have the free time. Eating a slow breakfast while watching the news will always be a favorite of mine.

Current food: Continuing from above…If you saw my post on Monday then you already know that I’ve been loving savory breakfasts. Sautéed kale (with turmeric), roasted carrots, sweet potatoes, asparagus, avocado and/or whatever we have on hand. Plus a fried egg on top.

Currently

Current new-to-me item/activity: So this isn’t necessarily new but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve done it…Les Mills BODYPUMP! I started taking BODYPUMP during my sophomore year of high school and went regularly (2 – 3x a week) until college. I love(d) so much about it. Now that I’m back in town I’ve been testing out different gyms to join and one of the gyms offers PUMP. I took two classes this week and I feel so freaking good.

Current need: to renew magazine subscriptions. Major first world problem but magazines are kind of my favorite.

Current workout: Running + Spinning. Yes, two things you haven’t seen a lot of lately. Injury update next week!

Current procrastination: Folding laundry. I may be out of college, but I’ll never be out of excuses to fold laundry.

Current blessing: Supportive parents.

Current mood: Excited! A main reason is….

Current excitement: I’m planning a trip to California! My cousins and I are heading out to LA and San Diego in early March and I’m so excited. Fun fact: I used to live in Southern California but haven’t been back in like 10 years. Any must-do/must-see suggestions? Part of me hopes I’ll love it and want to move there…my mom isn’t so fond of that.

Current e-card/funny quote: I have two for ya because I couldn’t choose….

I’ve never taken a bodypump class and my running coach is pretty adamant about me not taking extra classes right now. She was like…yea you can do that after May (my race lol)
My favorite workout playlist is the Ke$ha station on Pandora. She has my heart.

I am such a magazine person too! It’s so bad. It might be for the same reasons we love blogging and instagram and all that kind of stuff. We should have known we would be bloggers! I’m dying for that injury update!

I’ve never thought of it that way but it makes so much sense! I’m such a harder too. I have issues from years and years ago.

Oooh I can’t wait to hear the update!! Sounds like good news! I’ve never taken Bodypump, but I keep seeing people on Instagram talking about it!! No answer for current favorite workout song because I’ve actually really been enjoying running without any media lately. If I’m on the treadmill, I’ll listen to a podcast or two but no music the past few weeks!

I wish Bodypump was offered at every gym. Such a good and fun workout. Oh what podcasts are you listening to? I need to get back into those!

I LOVE roasted carrots. I can’t eat them raw now- only roasted, they are that good. I am dying to try a body pump class!

It is currently flurrying, but we aren’t supposed to get much in Chicago. Going back to a place that you used to live is the best. I’m getting the itch to go back to Vail, CO (we didn’t live there, but we went every year for nearly 10 years). Have a great weekend!

And extravagant breakfasts sounds rather perfectly pleasing ;) A wonderful way to start the day!

I have been eating savory breakfasts again too, after a long kick of sweet ones. I love eggs with avocado and anything else. I wish you were coming to Norcal instead of San Diego!! I want to meet you. But, it’s beautiful there so I’m excited for you! <3

Take me with you to California! Ah that sounds like a blast! I haven’t taken an actual Body Pump class but one of the gyms at my school offers a class that is pretty much Body Pump, minus the brand name. I only did it once but have been meaning to get back into it because I loved it!

Your trip to California sounds like it will be so much fun! I went there once during 8th grade but the highlights for me at the time were going to In-N-Out Burger and Six Flags.. :) Haha clearly the 2 most important things to see.
