Happy November check-in! See previous “currently” posts: October, September, August
P.S. I added/substituted a few of the questions to make it more “me.”
Current book: Last week I finished “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty and loved it. Because I really enjoyed her other book “The Husband’s Secret” I just picked up her novel “What Alice Forgot.” Safe to say I like her writing!
Current song: Country- “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett (his real-life wife plays his love interest in the music video!). Non-country- Adele’s “Hello.” I think you could have guessed that considering that it’s EVERYWHERE right now.
Current drink: Pacific Vanilla Coconut Milk. So I don’t actually drink it straight out of a glass, but it’s the best in smoothies and oatmeal.
Current guilty pleasure: Not feeling guilty about guilty pleasures ;)
Current food: Purple sweet potatoes and roasted vegetables, specifically cinnamon roasted vegetables. Can’t get enough of fall foods.
Current new-to-me item/activity: This is completely out of my normal realm…but this eye brow mascara. Anyone who knows me knows I’m very low-maintenance when it comes to make-up. However, I’m obsessed with eyebrows and think they make a big statement. They are actually one of the first things I notice in people. End eyebrow rant. I saw this in a magazine and decided to buy it at CVS. Will let you know after a few more uses (if I remember).
Current need: To finish folding my laundry. I’ve mentioned it before (and it was probably a previous “currently” answer) but I’d rather climb Mt. Everest than fold clothes. Obvious exaggeration
Current workout: Upper body weights. Read more about my current (no pun intended) “routine” in this post.
Current procrastination: Putting away the pumpkin/Halloween decorations in my apartment. It’ll take like two seconds so I’m not sure why this is an issue.
Current blessing: The crock pot!!!
Current excitement: A full week at home starts in T-8 days.
Current quote: I posted this on Instagram yesterday.
Current mood: Antsy. So many exciting things coming up and “Daddy, I want them NOOOOOW.”
Current link: Pinterest. I go in phases with it and right now is all Christmas (and food) mode.
I haven’t sat and read a book for fun since the summer! I need to finish Allegiant before the movie comes out.
It’s crazy to think that Thanksgiving break is so close, as well as your graduation! I can only imagine how excited you are. Enjoy it!

This is the first semester that I’ve really enjoyed reading for fun! These books pulled me in.
I went to college with Lauren Akins his wife and they are just as adorable in real life! And amen to your instagram post! I wish the world had the same view in every matter.
Currently I am procrastinating going to work…Blogs help with that a lot.

Okay… super jealous that you know Lauren Akins! I should be embarrassed by how often I stalk her Instagram account haha
Amanda @ ExploringLifeAndThings recently posted…Something that freaks me out
Wait, that oddly makes me so happy to hear they are like that in real life.
Very interesting that eyebrows are one of the first things you notice about people! I’m pretty sure I don’t really notice other people’s eyebrows unless there’s something really distinct about them.
Favorite fall food: apples! And apple crisp :)
Liv @ Healthy Liv recently posted…A Day of Whole 30 Meals
Apples have been on sale like crazy lately! I don’t mind :)
I’m with you on folding laundry and putting certain things away. They take 2 seconds yet I refuse to do it until I can’t live with the mess anymore. So bad at adulting. Excited for you that thanksgiving break is so soon!

Yup, describes me perfectly. Or I wait until I have company coming so I have to make my room look presentable.
I will fold your laundry :) I hate WASHING the clothes, but I will fold! (well…if you can vacuum for me! That’s the worst!)
And favorite fall food? Telling me to choose a child :P But the top ones this year/at the moment are Bosc Pears, baby kale, broccoli, and blood oranges!!!!

Haha I don’t mind washing clothes because the machine does it for you! I LOVE pears in salads. Very fall.
adele’s song is everywhere right now, they play it at work on repeat, but I seriously cannot complain, it’s so good haha!
I am completely with you on the eyebrows thing! I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to make up, but I love shaping my eyebrows, I like how they can really frame a person’s face:)

Agreed! It can make a no-makeup face look polished, I think.
Mmmmm sweet potatoes! The best :) And I’m also obsessed with Hello! Someone sang it on the Voice and I’m kind of disappointed because she butchered it..and now no one else will probably sing it this season :(

I thought the same thing…it didn’t sound like the same song!
I’ve read all of those Liane Moriarty books too!! I do that with authors I like for sure. You’ll like What Alice Forgot :)
Hayley @ Full of Life recently posted…Healthy Living Survey
They are just catchy and fun stories. A nice distraction :)
An order of 200 printed T-Shirts arrived at my internship office the other day and since we had to send them out individually by post, I spent a good part of that morning doing nothing but folding!
Fall foods: still enjoying the pumpkin and squashes but persimmons have just started arriving in the supermarkets in the UK and they are quickly stealing my heart…
I’m really pleased you have some exciting things coming up and hope your foot is still on the mend! Even though it’s not that big over here; I’m actually celebrating Thanksgiving this year too so that’s something I am really looking forward to.
x
Wow, you should be excused from folding clothes for a long time now. That’s exciting that you’re celebrating Thanksgiving! It’s a fun excuse to get family together, eat good food and (of course) give thanks :)
I have heard SO much about Liane Moriarty, but for some reason, I am hesitant to pick up the novels she has written. Would you consider them to be a novel of substance, or more for easy beach reading?
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me recently posted…WIAW: Snackage!
Beach reading, definitely! Light reads but catchy and entertaining.
I also am obsessed with Liane Moriarty! I love her writing. I still need to read “What Alice Forgot.” Also I love the music video for “Die a Happy Man,” so adorable.
I just started reading “Bad Feminist” by Roxanne Gay. I’ve really started getting into books that consist of short essays and the topic overall seems super interesting.
Amanda @ ExploringLifeAndThings recently posted…Something that freaks me out
I saw that one in Barnes & Nobles but didn’t read the blurb. It sounds interesting though! I didn’t know it was short essays.
Oh I am SO with you on hating folding washing – I feel like it’s a perpetual cycle of doom!
In fact, I hate folding clothes so much that that’s how my youth group kiddos remember that it’s not what they do that gets them into heaven but that they follow Jesus. We have a constant pile!

Haha I LOVE that reminder. Very true :)
This is so fun!! One of my besties is all about eyebrows!! :) …and I love your current foods!! All about those lovely fall eats as well! …also, I def need to try purple sweet potatoes! I remember you posted one in one of your recent posts and I absolutely wanted to try it!! MUST do! :)
Cailee recently posted…Ditch The Diet!
Purple sweet potatoes are hard to find but Whole Foods usually has them this time of year!
LOL – I have a pumpkin, sitting on my floor, in my living room. Do you think I am even going to touch it until maybe Valentine’s Day… NOPE! HA HA HA HA HA HA!

If I wasn’t moving out in a few weeks it would most definitely stay for a long time. My roommates and I keep Christmas lights up year-round (oops).
I LOVE that author and I really enjoyed that book, although “What Alice Forgot” is seriously one of my favorite reads. Favorite fall food is ALL the food. I don’t discriminate.
