Hello to you guys and the hello weekend. I’m very happy to “see” you both. Oh, and a special shout out to my parents who are celebrating their anniversary today! Love you x100.
Your comments on my last post blew me away. I have more to say on the topic, even from the opposite side, so stay tuned. But in the mean time, give yourself a break. You deserve it.
In typical Friday fashion I have a few things to tell you before I peace out for the weekend. I wish I really was “peacing out-of-town,” but I have work. Oh, and that homework thing to attend to.
Barre Motion Miami
I’ve only taken one barre class before and it was at least three years ago at The Bar Method in Tampa. I wasn’t sold after that class so I haven’t given it much thought since. However, because of my foot I’ve been more inclined to try new things. Last weekend I took a class on South Beach and came away with a few thoughts…
The good: My legs were shaking during the class AND sore the next day; the studio was the epitome of “Miami” chic (hello, outdoor patio and lounge chairs); good for all levels of fitness
The bad: The arms portion was kind of pointless; the constant pointing of and standing on my toes hurt my foot (extra extra bad); I didn’t sweat (I love sweating)
The conclusion: Minus my foot, the leg portion of the workout was good. More squats, pulses, extensions and holds than I can count. It could have been just my class but we barely did any arms, so that was a bummer. I see why people like it but I still don’t think it’s for me, at least consistently. Once in a while it would be a nice change, though!
Food Favorites
Two new-to-me food products that are so good you need to try them ASAP.
–Purely Elizabeth Granola. I’ve seen it all over the Instagram world and finally bought a bag last week. Now I understand. I understand. I bought the Blueberry Hemp Granola want to get the Pumpkin Fig one next.

Smoothie bowl featuring Purely Elizabeth
–NaturAlmond Nut Butters. If you’re looking for a new, natural, almond butter, this is it. A little pricey but it’s worth it for me. They didn’t have many (read: any) flavor options at my Whole Foods but I’d like the maple or honey one next.

I’ve seen the Purely Elizabeth granola around a lot but haven’t yet tried it out for myself. I love the sound of the pumpkin fig granola, especially in some yogurt… yum!

If you see a bag of it, grab it! I haven’t seen the flavor in stores!
Thanks so much for sharing Emily!
And yes. Purely Elizabeth is a different kind of granola. Seriously nothing is like it. Have a wonderful weekend <3

I feel like I have so much “catching up” to do with Purely Elizabeth- ha!
Glad ya (sort of) enjoyed Barre Motion haha. Barre isn’t my favorite workout although I think if I did it regularly I would be ripped Lolol. A new-to-me snack would be not something I can get back in the states, but a local bakery in Banff made house made granola bars and they were AMAZING. I gotta recreate them when I get home!

I’m obsessed with all of your pictures! It looks so beautiful up there.
That Buzzfeed device is intriguing, but I definitely wouldn’t want to risk it! My stomach swelled 5 inches this week from minor glutening at a salad shop :/

Oh no! I’m sorry you were glutened. That’s the worst.
I just know any type of barre class will never do it for me. I’ve tried multiple times now, and it just does not fit the bill :P
And yay for new almond butter! <3 sooo good!

I can always at a jar of nut butter to my collection :)
I still haven’t tried barre, because like you I like a workout where I SWEAT. I would much rather push myself and sweat the whole time than do a “little movements” class where you feel the burn but you’re not REALLY feeling it if that makes sense. I still want to eventually try it out…maybe someday.

Completely makes sense. It’s also pricey so I would have had to LOVE it to keep it up.
I’ve never had that granola; sounds delish though.
As for barre…it’s my jam. Well, I’ve never done regular barre (besides DVDs) but I love cardio barre. It’s tough and you definitely sweat! We usually do a lot of arm work as well.
To each her own, though, right? At least you tried it! :)

I’ve never head of cardio barre! I’m guessing I just had an “off” class because it seems like arms are normally a focus point.
i sure would like it if they could invent a gluten detection device but man dont we already shell out enough $$$ to be GF ? i guess i shouldnt be surprised though at the price point !
It should be free for us! Haha
Happy Weekend friend! XOXO

Hope you’re enjoying FALL in ACK!
I’d love to try a proper Barre class but can definitely empathise with enjoying building up a sweat during a work out (with a rewarding shower to follow of course!).
Almond butter looks good :)
Hope the foot is holding up ok. xx

Showering after a sweaty workout (and then eating and napping) is my favorite thing :)
I’ve never tried barre – and I would – but I can sympathize with the feeling of liking to sweat during a workout, so I doubt it’d be a regular thing. And pumpkin fig granola sounds delicious! I don’t usually buy granola, especially since it’s easy to make, but that sounds pretty worth it! Have a great weekend :)

I’m too lazy to make my own granola but I bet it would make my apartment smell incredible! Ship some to me ;)
I haven’t tried Barre but I’ve heard a lot of reviews on it. I’ve considered it off and on but I’m far from coordinated… I think coordination might be a requirement… :)

I was definitely “off beat” for some of it (at the top of a squat when the rest of the class was at the bottom) but for the most part the instructor kept me in line.
I recently tried a Peach Chobani yogurt and really enjoyed that! Even with not being a huge yogurt fan, it was delicious. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I’m not a huge yogurt fan either! But maybe with granola or something to “bite” I would like it. Same to you xo
That Barre studio is gorgeous, I would love to take a class sometime. I’ve also seen to Purely Elizabeth granola all over social media, I’d like to get my hands on the granola and puffs cereals!
