I’ve barely opened my laptop this week but I’m sitting here on Thursday night with some free time and felt like chatting. I’m very behind on blog reading, commenting and comment-replying but I’ll (sadly) have more time later this weekend when my family leaves. Since I didn’t do a random/life catch-up post yesterday I have a few quick things to share on this Friday…
1. In the almost month that I’ve been in the city I’ve been on a constant look-out to see a celebrity. I read my People magazine religiously and always see pictures of famous people just roaming the streets near me. Like how do I not see anyone?! Well, yesterday I saw THREE people in one day. Robin Roberts, Jason Garrett (the coach of the Dallas Cowboys- famous to me because I love sports) and Ellie Kemper! Of course I wasn’t quick enough to take a picture. Blogger fail.
2. I saw these little bags while shopping and wanted to buy all of them. Instead I didn’t buy any and just took a picture. That’s the same thing, right?

Except I don’t jog, I run. And I wear Hoka’s and Brooks…
3. Dinner from Local Thyme + my sister + Bryant Park = the perfect Wednesday night.
4. Yesterday at Whole Foods the cashier told me I looked exactly like Taylor Schilling from Orange is the New Black. She was disappointed that I wasn’t her. This was the fifth person to tell me I look like her. I see the resemblance to an extent, but mostly when she is in prison clothes without makeup and making ugly faces. Go figure.

5. My half birthday is this Tuesday. I repeat: my half birthday is this Tuesday. Yes, we celebrate half birthdays, judge away. I’m currently brainstorming small ways to treat myself that day. Suggestions? I’m eyeing this top from Athleta.
Off on another weekend trip out of the city. Lots of travel but all for good reasons. Have a great weekend!
Fun things! Not a bad celebrity to look like!

I’d have to agree :) Hope you had a great weekend!
I totally celebrate my half birthday.
It helps that it’s on Christmas Eve! <3

Oh that’s a good day! Double to celebrate :)
Ellie Kemper is a good sighting! Have you watched her new show on netflix? LOVE. IT.
I love how you celebrate your half birthday! Mine was a few weeks ago (June 9). I mentioned it at school and my classmates had no idea what I was talking about. Shame on them…

I haven’t watched her new show! Might have to check that out. Happy belated half birthday…I feel bad for people who don’t celebrate them…why not?! ;)
I love those bags-so cute. I think you resemble her a little, but you don’t look just like her. Like I wouldn’t mistake you for her. I feel like it’s always weird when people tell you that you look like a celebrity because usually you don’t see it!

Exactly! I didn’t even know who she was the first time someone told me so I wasn’t sure if it was a compliment or not.
Wooo half birthday!
I’ve never seen OITNB, but my mom watches it and loves it! Haha!

Everyone in my office this summer raves about it!
Have so much fun in Rhode Island!!!!!! Say hi to Cassandra for me (my boat) while you’re in NPT :)

We walked near the docks in Newport and I waved to the boats thinking of yours ;)
I always make a point to celebrate my half birthday.. even if I am the only one too! My half birthday is actually my aunt’s birthday, so hers is vice versa so that is always a fun connection we have. I still have yet to hop on the OITNB bandwagon, I guess I need Netflix to get on that right… haha

YES! Keep celebrating them :)
I do not watch OITNB… I never really got into it. My boyfriends mom LOVES it but it’s just not really my thing :( So excited I’m not the only one who celebrates half birthdays!! Birthdays are a big deal for me and I like to celebrate them with a birthday week!!! My half birthday is July 21… which is way more fun to celebrate than January 21 haha. Hope you have a fabulous day and weekend ! : )

I watched part of the first episode a while ago and couldn’t get into it. Ah YAY for half birthdays! I started celebrating because my real birthday is Dec. 30 and it got mixed in with Christmas and New Year’s so it didn’t feel as special when I was a 4-year-old-attention-loving girl.
I don’t watch TV shows, because a.) we don’t have cable, and b.) there is so many other things I’d rather be doing <- reason a.) is true, because my whole family is the same way. :D
That said, I can totally see the resemblance, but I actually think you look more like her in that fist picture. Maybe that's because I don't know you in person, but that's my opinion. :P
I can't believe you've lived in NYC for a month! I've wanted to visit there so badly, and it's fun to see your pictures and hear your stories and perspective of it!

Oh, I forgot to say – taking pictures of them all instead of buying them all is totally the same thing in my book. I do that All. The. Time. Nice to know I’m not the only one! ;P
(I also didn’t see your half-birthday question…we don’t really celebrate our half-birthdays, probably because there were six of us kids, so that would get ridiculously crazy! My half-birthday is October 12th!)

Well thank you :) I can’t believe it’s been a month either and that my summer here is already half way over! Hopefully you can visit one day (soon)!!
You do look like her! :) Awesome celeb sightings.. my ex would be jealous, he loves Ellie :p

I wish I had gotten a picture or some type of evidence! She looked so cute though.
My family has always recognized our half birthdays. Nothing extravagant or anything, but definitely a little excitement involved. Hope you have great one!

Yes, we are the same way. We do get a little gift and get to pick the day’s activities/meals so it does feel like a special day.
I definitely see the resemblance more in the second picture, but even in prison uniform, she’s absolutely gorgeous so I think it’s still a pretty good compliment :) I’ve been told I look like Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) fairly often, but I really don’t see it!
Haha thanks :) AH! Yes, I see the resemblance…you both are gorgeous.
I think you are prettier than her and no I don’t watch that show and probably won’t get into it…It’s not my thing. HA! I’m a Bravo junkie all the way…Have a beautiful weekend! xoxo

Aren’t you too sweet? ;) I’ve been really into Million Dollar Listings on Bravo lately. Especially because I’m in the city and the places they show are somewhat close to me.
I am OBSESSED with those little bags! They’re hilarious.
Glad you’ve been having a great time with your fam <3

Thanks, Paola! The “I go from $100 to $0” really fast is why I restrained myself from buying them :)
i love that you celebrate 1/2s! my sister and i do. since we are both august/february. for some reason when we were kids she though UNbirthday from alice in wonderland was for your 1/2 birthday. so now in february we celebrate our UNbirthdays : ) which usually includes sending the clip of alice in wonderland and singing a very merrry unbirthday to yoooooooooooooooou very loudly. she even reminds my boyfriend to get me something for my unbirthday to which he asks every year what the F an unbirthday is !!! thanks for the memory !
