Today is the best Monday I’ve had in a while, mainly because it doesn’t feel like a Monday. That’s what being on vacation does to you :) Oh, and the fact that Christmas is just a few days away doesn’t hurt the cause.
My time at home so far has been all sorts of marvelous. Simple and low-key, but just what I’ve needed and wanted.
Lately, I’ve been…
Eating to my heart’s content. Food has been plentiful and more delicious than I’m used to at school. It’s nice having a stocked fridge and enough food for extra servings at dinner. My mom made a roast pork with a fig balsamic dressing one night and it was incredible!
Spending quality time with my family. We wore matching Christmas pajamas and watched Elf on Saturday. Pretty perfect (albeit stereotypical) holiday night.
Feeling extra grateful. I received a Christmas gift from KIND along with a sweet note. I will be making this my new toiletry travel bag! Along with that, I had a fun dinner with a big group of high school friends and even after months apart we still clicked. I feel very lucky and fortunate for the people in my life.
Being lazy on the couch. I’ve enjoyed downtime with my dog and have had little motivation to do much else. I did catch up on some reading and I finally re-organized the documents on my computer…but that didn’t need much moving around!
Exercising…a little bit. I went for a longer than normal run (8 miles) with my dad yesterday in preparation for our upcoming half marathon. We followed it up with sitting on the couch, eating and watching football all day (perfect balance, right?). I’m welcoming this time and just doing what feels right. I do feel better with some movement most days, but I’m not pushing anything.
On tap for this week: lunch with friends, Christmas Eve mass and dinner in Orlando with family, Christmas Day at home, and that. is. it. Oh- and more naps and Netflix watching will probably happen.
How was your weekend?
What are your plans for the holidays?
Family, eating and workouts have been and still are my plans for the holiday season :)

2. Theres no doubt that you’ve been eating anything less then incredible
3. Are you & your dad running the marathon together? If so, that’s just awesome! I love hearing about active parents! Such a great influence.
I love your comment :) YES my dad and I are running it together! We are the same pace so it’s really nice to train and run with someone.

It felt very corny but cute :)
I love running and then watching football the rest of the day. I get to be a couch potato but not feel so bad about it! I have some travel planned for the holidays, but I’m really looking forward to having a few days at my apartment to just relax.

I’ve been a couch potato for the last week and I love it. Having time at home to relax is the best- enjoy!
I think the holidays really are just for doing whatever feels right to you. I’ve been so lazy even though I promised myself I would finally get in shape, but that’s what I’ve wanted to do. So good for you for getting up and getting in a run!

I’ve been taking the “do whatever feels good” approach during this break. Lots of days that means not getting out of pajamas :)
