I survived. This was simultaneously the hardest and best day of my life. Like I predicted, my time wasn’t “good” for me and the weather played a large role in my race. I actually suffered from the effects of the rough weather and ended up in the medical tent. I guess, to some extent, I can blame it on living in Florida, but I’m completely fine now. More on that tomorrow in a full recap.
For now, I’ll leave you with this…
It was a weekend and race unlike any other. I’m incredibly grateful for my experience and so thankful to everyone who made it possible (aka my family, NYRR, the volunteers and spectators).

At the expo; the finisher’s medal; starting on the Verrazano Narrows bridge
Favorite part of the weekend?
Congrats!!! It was an incredible experience under the most extreme winds!! Can’t wait to read your recap!
Oh boy, those winds…ah. But yes, the experience was one for the record books! Congrats to you too!!!!
YAYYYYYYYYY so excited for you and can’t wait to hear all about it! Ending up in the medical tent sounds scary- I’m glad you’re okay!
THANK YOU! Going to the medical tent was something I’ve never had to do so I was a little scared. But it was for the best.
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!
My mom was actually in NYC at Mount Sinai hospital and watched the marathon out the window! She told me how horrible the wind and cold was….I was thinking about you!
I’m glad your okay and you finished! I can’t wait to read a recap! XOXO
Yes the weather was pretty awful, especially for little Floridian me. Thanks for your support!
You did it! Add it to your milestone page, if you have one! :) I wonder what you’ll accomplish next.
Thanks, Linda!
Congratulations! I watched the TV coverage, and the conditions looked brutal, especially when people were waiting for the start. I’m glad you still managed to have fun.
Honestly, the start was the worst! But I did have fun…it was the most amazing experience.
Congratulations! I cannot wait to hear all about your experience! I am glad you are all okay and made it through :)
Congrats! Can’t wait to hear about it!
