This weekend was everything I needed after riding the struggle bus for 5 days last week. Technically I’m still on that bus as I’ve had a cold/allergies/sore throat/something-like-that since Thursday but we’ll pretend that’s a non-issue, even though I can’t sleep. I almost wrote “non-tissue” because tissues have been on my mind lately. In the spirit of feeling *mostly* like myself I’m going for round 2 of sharing the little things that made me happy this weekend.

Sunday morning walk in Miami
Opening a new jar of almond butter and taking that first big creamy spoonful. Already loving my new flavor of Kolat Superfoods.
Sun out, windows down, (country) music blaring while driving
Seeing the progression of a sunrise during a long run (from pitch black to perfectly sunny)
Walking along the water and (momentarily) not caring that it’s 90 degrees and humid
Football Sunday’s, even though my Eagles are hard to watch
Kardashian Sunday’s…sorry, Nana, I still watch their show :)
Putting cinnamon on everything
Finding three heads-up pennies while running (and stopping to pick them up)
Trying new things, even if I didn’t like them
Finding articles like this one and remembering there are people who “get” me
Planning an upcoming vacation
Learning that self-care is not selfish. This might be more than a “little” thing, but I’m counting it.
*Linking up to Marvelous in My Monday…thanks, Katie!*
Today’s a rest day for me, but I love watching the sun rise in the morning during a run. Makes me feel like I’m starting the day with the world…which is weird when I actually say it, but that’s how it feels :))))

Especially if you get to run on Bayshore! The best place to run.
Cooler temperatures in the morning, an ice cold Coke after a long run, fall items at the store, finally finding out the name of a song you have been searching for. I do not watch the Khardasians, however I have been watching, Don’t be Tardy. I hope you start feeling better

It drives me crazy when I can’t find the name of song! Do you have the app “Shazam?” Sometimes I use that, but other times I’m too late and the song is over.
LOVE the Kardashians… Kourtney is so my fave… I love how sassy and dry she is. Haha. Glad you had a nice and relaxing weekend – here’s to hoping this week goes MUCH much quicker!!

I knew I’d have you to back me up on the Kardashian watching :) Kourtney’s voice makes it for me.
you’ve nailed for me what I strive to live each day. It really is the small stuff. And as my daughter edges towards 10 I’m already reflecting and realizing that small stuff was, in fact, the big stuff

I’m realizing that too. The small everyday things we “rush through” end up being some of the most meaningful. Oh, 10 is an exciting birthday!
I can say yes to all these things!!

I’m glad this weekend was everything you needed and more! Hopefully this week is off to a better start :)

Thanks, Sarah :) Now that it’s basically Wednesday it’s even better.
Learning that self care is not selfish is a big thing for me, in fact it might be the lesson of my life if I ever really learn it! What a gorgeous view for your walk!

If I can’t have the cooler temps I’ll take the beach view!
This weekend was a really great one for me, and lots of things made me happy! I think lately I’m feeling extra lucky in life and trying to be grateful for everything..not complaining about the small things in life that might not be perfect. Love how you’re making lists to remind yourself of the small things <3 P.S. sorry about your eagles..losing is never fun especially against the Cowboys :(
THIS makes me happy. So glad you had a great weekend! Uhh, the fact that it was a division game makes it even worse.
I put cinnamon on everything too!! I swear, I go through a jar of cinnamon like it is going out of style haha. Hope you feel better soon! I have a nasty cold too that I am so ready to be done with!

I just realized this morning need a new jar of cinnamon. Absolute necessity.
I used to watch that show, but I honestly cannot do it anymore. They are so plastic, fake, and honestly stupid. Well not really stupid, because they are laughing all the way to the bank. Watching that show actually drives me nuts…HAHA! Just being honest here…so no more for me…I watch other bad Bravo TV. :)

No, I completely agree with everything you said about them. Bravo has “better” trashy TV shows!
I love watching the sun rise, there is something about it that just makes me fell refreshed and reborn. Call me corny, but I like it! Country music always makes me happy, especially when I can sing at the top of my lungs in the car with the windows down (or at a concert like I got to do this weekend!)

I know, it sounds corny when you say/type it but I completely understand. Was Luke Bryan this weekend? I miss Tampa country concerts.
I’ve never seen the Kardashians but just the fact that it is autumn is making me happy right now, especially since the shops have started stocking Hallowe’en themed items! xx
My mom told me the mall at home is starting to decorate for Christmas. CRAZY! I love fall though.
Thank you for forcing me to stop and think about the little things! I had a bad day today, and actually, as sad as it sounds, walking around Target and investing in a cute mug and pumpkin candles helped lmao #basic

Why is it that some impulse Target purchases cure everything? Actually, just walking around and (using every ounce of willpower to not buy anything) can help. I like going to Barnes and Nobles too!
A lot of the time I am guilty of forgetting about the little things. But if I had to think of some from the last few days – spending an afternoon with my mum (which I always enjoy), fresh coffee in the morning, the feeling of my scrumptious duvet when I go to bed, and my cat being super cuddly when he wants a fuss :-)

The feeling of your duvet –> YES! I know exactly what you mean. Nothing would make me happier than spending an afternoon with my mom tomorrow :)
Lately my pups have been making me happy – as well as Jesse. The little ways they show love to me when I need it the most make me realise just how lucky I am to have them!
