Workouts 1/11 – 1/17

A new class schedule meant a new workout schedule. While I never really follow a “schedule” I needed to plan out when and where I was going to workout this week. Yoga was a common theme.

Sunday: Yoga. Back to my favorite hot vinyasa flow class! After a long drive and unpacking I needed some sort of mental and physical release.

Monday: Off. Monday was/is one of my easier days this semester but I just didn’t feel like working out.

My quote of the day


Tuesday: Yoga + 3 miles. Yoga in the morning (I made it to that early class!) and a quick run after work. Although afternoon runs are mentally/physically impossible for me, the weather was too good to pass up the opportunity. Maybe I will continue this trend…?

Wednesday: Spin. I teach in the morning this semester, which I MUCH prefer.

Thursday: 5 miles + yoga. Early morning treadmill run and hot vinyasa flow in the afternoon. Both workouts felt so good and if I wasn’t pressed for time (or the class was longer than 1 hr) I would have kept going.

Friday: Yoga.

Saturday: 7 miles. I ran 5 miles with my school’s running club and 2 on my own. A lot of the members are tapering for next weekend’s Miami Half/Full Marathon and I loved talking to them about their training, nerves, and goals. It will be the first full marathon for one girl and we spent the 5 miles talking about ways to get through miles 16-23 of the race. The consensus? Suck it up and make an awesome playlist.

The weather was absolutely perfect and my body felt the best it’s had in a while. I think it had to do with my super awesome pants.


I was actually offered a bib for both the half and full (I laughed at the offer for the full) but am semi-contemplating the half because it’s free. I wouldn’t race it obviously, but I do love the race atmosphere. Ah decisions, decisions.

    It’s raining right now….but I plan to beast up and run anyway! I think it could be a fun adventure :P

    Looove the leggings :) weather has been absolutely AMAZING in Austin. It was in the 30s-40s all week, but yesterday and today are mid to upper 60s! And oh man, I love that Namastay quote hahah .. some days that’s definitely how it goes ;)

    That’s awesome that you got offered a free bib for a half! Having a free bib would make it easier to just run it for fun and not for time, I think. And I love that “namast’ay in bed” quote.

    Oh my gosh you should totally run the race! I know you will do great even if you didn’t train. Isn’t it funny how on days when we have less going on (aka your Mondays), it’s sometimes harder to work out!? Should totally be the opposite, lol.
