It’s Thursday night and I’m sitting on the couch after a full day of family, friends, food and (very bad for me) football. Minus the 75+ degree weather, which I so greatly enjoyed, it was a classic Thanksgiving in my household. Plus, for a Thanksgiving food-hating person, I’m stuffed. That’s all thanks to eating the majority of the roasted sweet potatoes…made for 13 people. Just doing what I do best.
I hope you all had an equally enjoyable day! I’ll be back on Monday with more of a Thanksgiving break recap but I want to link up to Friday Favorites to share a few highlights from yesterday.
My contribution to the meal: roasted vegetables and sweet potatoes (not pictured). Below are pre-roasted carrots, beets and parsnips. My mom made the best turkey and the house smelt heavenly. Am I the only one who forgot to take a picture of my actual plate of food? Oops..
I spent most of the day playing with a 2-year-old family friend. Coloring, reading, wandering the house and playing peek-a-boo. I was the best kind of exhausted after she left.
After the clean-up —> wine by the fire-pit.
And ended the night playing Jeopardy with the family. I lost….of course.
If any of you are braving the crowds today, good luck and I hope you get some good deals!
I’m with you on focussing on the turkey and sweet potatoes! Our southern family does casseroles like no body’s business, but they really aren’t as appealing as they used to be. I’m glad you had a great thanksgiving!

I don’t think we had casserole on the table. But honestly, all of the mushy light colored food looks the same to me haha
I’m just so glad I was reunited with my stuffing this year! Soooo good! (Leftovers today!)
Ah, I dug out my old kiddie Christmas (dalmatian brand) jumbo coloring books last week and totally geeked out with the coloring ;) So much fun!

I seriously contemplated buying an adult coloring book! I saw one today and it looked fun.
No to most Thanksgiving food for me, but I like rolls and roasted veggies and green beans with bacon. I spent the day eating and relaxing with my parents, grandparents, and great-uncle, and it was lovely. :) Have a great weekend, Emily!

That sounds like a perfect holiday! Roasted veggies were a big plate-filler for me.
I love turkey, cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes so I’m a Thanksgiving girl! I also made roasted veggies – squash and asparagus and sweet potatoes :)

I would have been ALL over those roasted veggies. Adding asparagus was a good idea!
I’m so glad you had a great time on Thanksgiving! I’m looking forward to your recap. :)

So glad your family surprised you at school! Love surprises like that :)
No lie, I though the fire pit was wine at first and I was like damn that is a lot of wine and why is it on fire??
HA! We have a lot of wine in our house, but that would be a record.
Looks like a fun and relaxing day. Lots of family fun here filled with WAY too much food. The roasted sweet potatoes sound good!
