I’ve been going to a Baptiste (hot power) yoga studio for the last two years and love it. I mentioned this in my workout recap on Sunday, but last weekend I went to a new hot yoga studio just for fun and had a typical first-time hot yoga experience. I know it’s supposed to be calming and detoxifying but it ended up being a stressful and overly sweaty experience. What better way to make it a positive than to turn it into a Friends gif-filled blog post?
Thoughts During Hot Yoga (According to Friends)
I’m already sweating and we haven’t started.

Why is this instructor trying to speak in an accent? No. Just no.

See? Sometimes I’m deep and sometimes I just want a lighter Friends-filled post. Best of both worlds in my opinion :)
Oh my gosh Emily I don’t even yoga (yes I just made that a verb) and this is HILARIOUS. I’ve heard about hot yoga and all the “madness” it can entail. I would still love to try it, at least just once! So so funny. Sharing this with friends ;-) <3

Thank you! So sweet for sharing. Definitely give it a go once or twice so you can experience the “madness” :)
HAHA I love this post! I’ve never been to hot yoga but I am pretty sure I would have the same feelings about it!

It might be a nice change in the winter though!
its funny to me that you write this post, because i used to think that i would HATE hot yoga. like, i was so against it, i would make fun of my friends who would always go. then one day i went (i bought a groupon =P), and ended up LOVING it!! The heat is definitely super difficult to get used to, but 10 minutes in everyone is a massive sweaty mess anyway, so it was sort of nice having to deal with it together. i definitely love how you made this GIF post though haha, nice work

That’s so awesome that you had a great experience! I think it depends on the way the studio heats the room too. In the studio I’m used to going to (which I love) it doesn’t feel as stuffy inside. This one was a sauna.
I’m way too nervous to try hot yoga. I just feel like I would turn into a puddle of mush.. I love the memes! :)

Seriously the wrong day for me to wear crops to class. No special Lulu fabric could have helped me feel better.
Hahahahha YES. I kind of miss hot yoga though… I’ve only been doing non-heated yoga lately at my office and it’s just not the same.

I did non-heated yoga almost all summer. Hot yoga hasn’t been so appealing since it’s just as hot outside! I do love my Baptiste studio though.
This sums up how I feel during almost every exercise class I have tried. Too good. I like doing Bikram yoga on occasion but the first time I did it it was literally torture (not sure if that’s the kind you did this time). I want to try a hot power class!

I tried Bikram a few years ago but I swear it wasn’t as hot as this studio. This was more of a vinyasa in a 1000 degree room haha
I have never been to hot yoga. I really want to though. This was a great post. I loved watching Friends it was one of the best shows ever. Have a great day

HAHAHA I tried hot yoga once and I can safely say, this about sums up the experience. Love it!

Phew, glad you can relate!
Friends + fitness= two of my fav things! This definitely gave me a laugh! I’ve done semi-hot vinyasa where the room is heated, but never a specifically “hot yoga” class. Going into a new workout studio/ gym always can be a bit intimidating for me/ make me anxious since I don’t know what to expect. At least you go to try something new !

I actually like the semi-hot vinyasa and do that regularly! I think it was the stuffiness (weird word) that did me in.
I pretend I’ve done hot yoga before since sometimes the room I’m in is at least 90 degrees :P But still…I need to give the real thing a try one day!

Curious to hear what you think of it!
This is awesome, because I have totally had all of these thoughts….I hate working out and I’m so lazy, yet I love yoga! Hot yoga can be HELL>
I really should have worn a bathing suit because I sweat so much.
If you could do every post in friends gif, i would not mind at all :) Definitely can relate to all of these moments…particularly mat work. The best!! I honestly think the worst part for me is the first warmup…I HATE that stupid move and it makes me so dizzy! Why do we have to do that!

Hahaha! Love this post. I personally really really enjoy hot yoga, but I didn’t like my first class I ever took as much as I like it now! It is definitely a bit of a shock your first time!

Do you go to a studio in Tampa? I’ll have to try it out! I’m open to going again. I think 3 times before I ride it off.
I haven’t found one near USF yet, but I used to go to PURE in Clearwater!

This was really funny since hot yoga kind of terrifies me! I just hate being hot!

I normally love the heat (you know that) but this stuffy, humid room was on another level.
Oh my goodness Em this was spot on! I love that you love yoga and friends just as much as I do. I’ve totally pictured Phoebe in my head screaming STOP THIS MADDNESS during the “cardio burst” towards the end of my yoga sculpt class.
We totally need a Friends and yoga day. Not that they relate at all, but I love both things too :)
This is so funny! If I ever end up trying hot yoga, I will just be getting images in my mind of scenes from Friends… xx

I actually relate a lot of situations to Friends. It helps me find humor in things :)
Omg ha this is hilarious! You have a gift for Friends memes :D
I wish there was a Friends major at school. That would be my life.
Hahaha this is hilarious and completely spot-on! :-)
I *might* have been thinking about writing this post while I was in the actual class. Distracted me from the unbearable heat!
