Thoughts During Hot Yoga (According to Friends)

09/29/15 | Favorites, Life, Thoughts

I’ve been going to a Baptiste (hot power) yoga studio for the last two years and love it. I mentioned this in my workout recap on Sunday, but last weekend I went to a new hot yoga studio just for fun and had a typical first-time hot yoga experience. I know it’s supposed to be calming and detoxifying but it ended up being a stressful and overly sweaty experience. What better way to make it a positive than to turn it into a Friends gif-filled blog post?

See? Sometimes I’m deep and sometimes I just want a lighter Friends-filled post. Best of both worlds in my opinion :)

Have you been to hot yoga?

Oh my gosh Emily I don’t even yoga (yes I just made that a verb) and this is HILARIOUS. I’ve heard about hot yoga and all the “madness” it can entail. I would still love to try it, at least just once! So so funny. Sharing this with friends ;-) <3

Thank you! So sweet for sharing. Definitely give it a go once or twice so you can experience the “madness” :)

HAHA I love this post! I’ve never been to hot yoga but I am pretty sure I would have the same feelings about it!

its funny to me that you write this post, because i used to think that i would HATE hot yoga. like, i was so against it, i would make fun of my friends who would always go. then one day i went (i bought a groupon =P), and ended up LOVING it!! The heat is definitely super difficult to get used to, but 10 minutes in everyone is a massive sweaty mess anyway, so it was sort of nice having to deal with it together. i definitely love how you made this GIF post though haha, nice work

That’s so awesome that you had a great experience! I think it depends on the way the studio heats the room too. In the studio I’m used to going to (which I love) it doesn’t feel as stuffy inside. This one was a sauna.

I’m way too nervous to try hot yoga. I just feel like I would turn into a puddle of mush.. I love the memes! :)

Seriously the wrong day for me to wear crops to class. No special Lulu fabric could have helped me feel better.

Hahahahha YES. I kind of miss hot yoga though… I’ve only been doing non-heated yoga lately at my office and it’s just not the same.

I did non-heated yoga almost all summer. Hot yoga hasn’t been so appealing since it’s just as hot outside! I do love my Baptiste studio though.

This sums up how I feel during almost every exercise class I have tried. Too good. I like doing Bikram yoga on occasion but the first time I did it it was literally torture (not sure if that’s the kind you did this time). I want to try a hot power class!

I tried Bikram a few years ago but I swear it wasn’t as hot as this studio. This was more of a vinyasa in a 1000 degree room haha

Friends + fitness= two of my fav things! This definitely gave me a laugh! I’ve done semi-hot vinyasa where the room is heated, but never a specifically “hot yoga” class. Going into a new workout studio/ gym always can be a bit intimidating for me/ make me anxious since I don’t know what to expect. At least you go to try something new !

I actually like the semi-hot vinyasa and do that regularly! I think it was the stuffiness (weird word) that did me in.
