Marvelous. I couldn’t pick a better word to describe this weekend. Time for a little recap…
Marvelous is…family. I couldn’t not start the recap with this. Just having them down here was a blessing and made for an awesome weekend.
Marvelous is…taking my mom to my yoga studio! She got to meet some of my teachers and finally experienced a Baptiste class. I wasn’t kidding when I told her it was hard ;)
Marvelous is…going to the farmer’s market. I’ve never gone to the farmer’s market not on-campus so this was a treat. My mom and I went after yoga and got delicious smoothies (spinach + banana + ginger + lemon + green apple).
Marvelous is…this produce. I wanted to buy everything and spiralize it.
Marvelous Funny is…seeing parents use the lights on their cell phones to read restaurant menus. They haven’t resorted to needing reading glasses yet!
Marvelous is…sushi. Really really good sushi. I haven’t had sushi in a long time and definitely got my full at dinner Saturday night. I shared this plus another plate with my mom. Not so marvelous…awful lighting.
Marvelous is…FINALLY ordering a food processor (I’m looking at you, Georgie :)). I had to order it online so it should arrive this Friday.
Marvelous is...winter in Florida…and lunch on the beach. Sorry, northerners. I’ll be jealous of you in the summer.
Marvelous is…having perspective. When it comes to running, my knee doesn’t hurt but I still don’t want to push it. One week off won’t didn’t kill me. As for my family, saying goodbye is never easy but I know I won’t live away from them forever. These “hard times” are just phases that will make me a stronger person later.
Make it a great week!!!!
Favorite smoothie combination? I’m not normally a smoothie person but when someone makes it for me, I can’t say no :)
What a wonderful weekend! I always enjoyed when my family would visit me while in college. Your farmers market looks incredible. I would have bought all those peppers :)

I really enjoyed showing my family where I live and taking them to places that I always talk about. The peppers looked amazing. I need to go back one of these weekends (and bring cash this time haha)
These moments are what takes us through! Ah! Love it! I am so glad you had a killer weekend! I can feel the happiness :) XOXO

:) :) Thanks, girl! It was pretty perfect.
Your weekend really does look marvelous! I am pretty jealous of you and your Florida weather. I am totally buried in snow and freezing up here in Boston. Family is marvelous and you are so lucky to be able to spend so much time with them!
I get to see my family every month if I’m lucky. Looks like that trend will continue this semester. Boston is one of my favorite cities in the summer, but I’m very much enjoying winter in FL. Stay warm!
Aw I’m glad you got to spend some quality time with your family!!! I know how hard it is saying goodbye but it makes the times you do spend together more special. And you’re right- you won’t be living away from them forever. I’m only moderately jealous of your Florida winters :)

You’re right. During college I’ve noticed that because I see my family less, the time we do spend together is definitely more special. I appreciate it more. Um, you can fix that…come for a winter getaway!
There is nothing better than family, Farmer’s Markets, and sushi! I think you listed my top 3 favorite things hahaha ;). So glad you had such an amazing weekend! And isn’t this warm winter weather amazing? I live in Southern California and this week is all mid-70s for us :). Not complaining!

Haha I’m glad someone isn’t mad about my weather bragging ;) Warm winters are my kind of thing.
That all does sound (and look) marvelous. There is just so much sun.
Guess what? I got a spiralizer this weekend! Now we can totally swap recipes. So happy you had such a great visit with your fam.

Sounds like such a good weekend! We had good weather in Austin, too – and I was feeling pretty marvelous. =) I’m glad you had such a great time with your family. Gotta love being pampered with dinner, shopping & some outdoor time with them! :]
Looking forward to seeing what you cook up with the food processor, and what Georgie makes with the spiralizer! ; ) Haha.

Thanks, Em! Ah Georgie has the best recipes. I’m excited to see what she comes up with.
Or I can just recreate your amazing recipes? ;) That pesto is happening this weekend.
Awe, sounds like a fabulous weekend! Family visits are so great. I just got a small food processor last week for my new falafel kick. This weekend I processed frozen bananas and peanut butter for an “ice cream” treat.

That’s such a good idea! Will definitely try that out.
I am so happy you had such a great weekend! It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. What could be better than sushi, the beach, and family time?
It’s been in the 20’s and 30’s here. Ew. I AM jealous! I would rather suffer through the muggy Florida summers and get warm winters than deal with Indiana’s crazy weather.

Thanks, Katie! Sushi, the beach and family in one weekend was such a treat. I’m with you on the weather…it’s worth it to “suffer” through 4 months of heat than deal with the snow. I lived up north for 10 years and don’t miss snow.
That’s too funny that both of your parents used their phone lights! Brilliant. Getting to spend some time with family can be so refreshing! And way to go for taking it easy on your knee :)

Won’t admit to getting old yet ;) But I will say it was dark in the restaurant.
I’m jealous of your farmer’s market! I think the one here doesn’t start up again until Memorial Day. That’s so cool you can go to yoga with your mom. My mom has bad joints, so I’m trying to convince her to take a yin class with me.
Rebecca @ MyEagerFeet recently posted…Three Things Thursday – January 29
There aren’t many farmer’s markets in the summer here because it’s too hot. My mom is the one who introduced me to yoga (and all forms of exercise). I’m lucky to have that bond with her.
Never say goodbye to anyone, always “see you later” :)
