It was oddly very easy to get back in the swing of things after Thanksgiving break. I was expecting a rough adjustment but I think the fact that I only have 15 days left of the semester and that it’s Christmastime has made the transition easier. But it’s also finals time aka the least stressful time of year for college students. Hope you get my sarcasm ;) Here’s a look at a my day and meals from Tuesday. Thanks, Jenn for hosting!
It wasn’t a typical Tuesday because I switched my schedule at work, but normally Tuesday’s involve some office time.
6:00 a.m.– Alarm goes off. I contemplate getting up to workout but the rain makes my decision very easy.
7:00 a.m.– Actually wake up and head right to the kitchen to make breakfast. I had my usual two bowls of oatmeal with fruit and peanut butter. I read blogs and checked social media while eating.
7:45 a.m.– Finish working on a paper for a group project due this morning.
8:15 a.m.– Get ready for the day. I normally don’t take more than 5 minutes to get ready, but I had to look nice yesterday because I had two presentations.
8:45 a.m.– Pack a snack and head to campus early to print my paper and meeting with my group.
9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.– I won’t bore you with the details, but just know that I was in class giving my presentations :) In between class I ate a KIND Healthy Grains bar. If you haven’t tried one, you must.
1:00 p.m.- Lunch & laundry. One of my favorite things and one of my least favorite. I put clothes in the washing machine and made a turkey avocado wrap for lunch. I had an apple and one of my almond butter energy bites on the side.

Recycled picture, but they look and taste the same.
1:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.– Homework. Ah, the glorious life of a college student. Today I worked on my journalism final project, graphic design work and started typing this post.
4:00-5:00 p.m.- I had the best intention of going for a run, or driving to the on-campus gym but the sudden rain (again) caused a change of plans. I have a very small gym in my condo complex but I never go to it because all the cardio equipment is broken. They do have free weights but only in increments of 5 lbs which, causes me to lift lighter than I normally would.
I warmed up with this a cardio segment. I did this during the bootcamp in Rhode Island and loved it. Complete the first column of each exercise before moving on to the next column (50 jumping jacks, 10 burpees, 10 push-ups, 20 jump squats, 40 mountain climbers, 20 leg raises…then 40 jumping jacks, etc.)
Then, I completed this workout that Heather posted yesterday. I didn’t use weights for the lower body segment and completed each circuit a total of 2 times. Quick and effective, right up my alley!
5:15 p.m.– Shower, fold laundry and change sheets. I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to folding laundry. Who else is with me that folding fitted sheets is such a waste of time?
6:00 p.m.– Eat dinner. I made this Monday night and, like I normally do, I made enough for two nights of dinner. Sautéed zucchini noodles with honey mustard chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and toasted almonds.
6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. – Homework Yuck.
8 p.m.– Take a break from homework and read blogs while eating apples with peanut butter and one more of my almond energy bites. I try to only “goof off” on the internet in the morning and at night. If I set aside 30 minutes on both ends for some free time I know I won’t be tempted during the day. I broke that on Cyber Monday though…oops.

Another recycled picture, but trust me, it looks the same every day
9 p.m.– Finish up another group project. Working with Google docs is a necessary evil. I hate when everyone is typing at once.
10 p.m.– Hop into bed, watch a Tivoed episode of Friends, and fall asleep with the TV on. Perfect end to my day.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’m pregnant, but man i would’ve been wiped out by the time 10pm came with your schedule. Hah!
We don’t even have a television in our room so nope I most certainly do not fall asleep with the TV on. Oh wait I lie.. I do Saturday & Sundays when football is on :)
It was a long day for me. 10 pm is normally past my bedtime…I need my sleep! :)
I’ve always wanted to try the Kind granola bars…I really don’t know why I haven’t!
Don’t you hate the 5lb increments! So annoying! Haha!
I used to go to sleep with the TV on when I was younger, then I switched to setting it on a timer to go off, then (now) I don’t at all! (I used to wake-up with headaches from it I remember though!)

You will love them! They are at most grocery stores (and Target). I’ve never woken up with a headache from the TV but I have been woken up in the middle of the night from the sound.
AH I goof off online too much-need to work on that. I love the cardio workout you did-I need to try it!

I normally do cardio circuits when I work out by myself, mainly because I have no motivation, but this one kept my interest.
That cardio routine and circuit workout looks awesome! I love the use of upper and lower body in one workout. I goof off on the internet way too much, I like that you set limits for yourself! I’ll definitely have to do that during finals week!! haha

I kind of cheat with those internet/social media restrictions because I check Twitter and Instagram a few times a day :)
That cardio routine looks great, I’ll have to try it out at the gym today! P.S. I love your blog and all your running posts, I ran a full marathon last year and a few half’s since. I totally feel you on the recovery phase, its so hard to accept feeling out of shape, I’m glad to know someone else feels my pain haha.
Thanks so much, Lacey! Oh, I completely understand how you feel in recovery. But taking this time off of strict training will benefit both of us!
I watch netflix before bed and most times I fall asleep…. woops.
I gotta get on the spiralizer game – those look awesome

I have yet to spiralize anything but zucchini but there is so much you can do with it!
Your meals look awesome!! I too love oatmeal for breakfast and sometimes eat more than one bowl!
