A few highs and lows from my workouts this week…
High: I had 3 pain-free runs and I held side crow (with legs fully extended) for 10 long breaths (that’s how I counted)
Low: Yoga hurt my knee. Of all things?! It makes perfect sense and I’m mad I didn’t catch myself sooner. I did camel to wheel and as soon as I came off my knees in camel I felt pain. That and the constant bending in all the warrior poses probably wasn’t the best. So I now I know that when I’m trying to rehab a running injury not to push it in yoga :)
Here’s a recap of what I did:
Sunday: Off. I said goodbye to my parents and spent the day catching up on homework.
Monday: 4 miles. First run in over a week. Slower than slow for me but it was needed. I just set the speed on the treadmill, covered the screen with a towel and ran.
I went to my physical therapist in the afternoon and the treatment helped a lot. I started going to see him last January after my first marathon when I started having some knee pain. He reminded me of all the glute and hip strengthening exercises I should be doing. Plus, I love my PT and wish I could hang out there when I wasn’t injured.
Tuesday: Yoga. Nothing special, but always awesome.
Wednesday: Spin. I used my Valentine’s Day playlist.
Thursday: 4 miles in the morning + yoga at night. This was the knee-killer yoga class. Shouldn’t have pushed my luck.
But the studio’s Valentine’s Day decorations were on point.
Friday: Off. (PT in the afternoon).
Saturday: 6 miles in the freezing cold. It was 40 degrees when I started and I wasn’t prepared. My fault. But this run was the best I’ve had in a while. Still, next week’s half is going to be slow and rough.
Have a great Sunday! xo
How were your workouts this week?
Have you been to physical therapy? For what injury?
Girl, I wish it was 40 degrees! You’re weather spoiled ;)
I hope your knee keeps healing up! Damn yoga….haha! I was actually in PT for about 3 or 4 months years and years ago for my knee! I had developed Patellofemoral syndrome in my left knee after a bad hamstring pull. That was not fun :/

Good luck in your race!
My favorite workout this week was at the hotel I was staying at – I had the place to myself and I was just pumpin’ iron. Felt great!

Gosh it’s a great work out report. I did a 8 minute challenge half of the week but it gave me a muscle sore so I was more on an on-and-off schedule.

Good for you getting in a few good runs! Sometimes slow and easy is just what you need. I’m glad your knee is starting to feel better!
I’ve never been to PT but I probably should have gone before. I seem to get hurt way too often.
