What. A. Week. As much as I’ve loved exploring the city and walking (literally) everywhere, I’m exhausted. I start work tomorrow and that will hopefully get me in a more “normal” routine. I spent every day in a different area of Manhattan (and one day in Brooklyn) and will share a little recap of my adventures this week. I still have a lot of areas I want to learn/explore but those trips will most likely be reserved for the weekends.
My workouts this week consisted mainly of walking. Granted, I don’t power walk or get my heart rate up but I think all the miles count for something ;) But now my feet and legs are tired and I haven’t even put on my heels for work yet. Wish me luck. I know a lot of people run as many miles as I walked this week and kudos to you/them because I’m sore just walking.
I also took classes at three different ClassPass studios (Wed, Thurs, Fri) and will talk more about those soon.
Sunday: No “official” workout. My dad and I did walk about 10 miles according to the Health app on my phone, which probably isn’t the most accurate. All steps listed below are based on that app.
Monday: 3.5 miles of running + 5 walking
Tuesday: 5 miles running in Central Park (not much walking)
Wednesday: Mile High Run Club (3.25 miles of running + 10 minutes of strength training) + 6 miles walking
Thursday: Drill Fitness (25 minutes of Spinning + 25 minutes of strength training) + 8 miles of walking
Friday: Yoga at Moving Strength (1 hour easy vinyasa) + 6 miles of walking
Saturday: No “official” workout but my friend and I walked about 10 miles around Brooklyn. That was more than enough for me!
I am a FAST walker! If you’re slow…I will get past you, disgruntled and in a hurry, hahahaha ;)

Whenever I’m in a slow-walking mood, I just stay to the right and let others pass me.
I am 100% a fast walker. My family gets so annoyed because I always walk ahead of the pack lol I love seeing all the different studios you’re going to in NYC! They must be on another level!

Haha that’s funny that my family gets mad at me for the opposite. The studios here have been so great! You would love them.
My favorite part about living in the city is all the walking. You don’t actually need the formal workouts because you’re getting so much exercise just getting around. It’s actually my preferred workout, plus New York is the best city to wander in!

I’ve quickly learned that formal workouts are not necessary. I’ve been more active this week than normal because of the walking- and I don’t even realize how far I’ve walked until the day is over.
I’m definitely a fast walker if it’s around campus, but other than that people get irritated that I’m lagging behind. JUST TRYING TO SMELL THE ROSES HERE, PEOPLE.
Haha I say the same thing. Unless I’m in a rush to get somewhere I just take my time. Less stressful that way.
I did SO MUCH WALKING when we were in NYC last week! Like 10+ miles each day…and my legs were feeling it when I woke up in the mornings. I took the whole week off from running, too, to give myself a break and I think it was a good call

YES, it’s crazy how much you walk here (almost without realizing it). I guess it’s good staying active but part it’s definitely exhausting.
thats insane how many miles you walked! I would love to run through Central Park one day though, jealous!

I’ve only run there twice this summer and I have that “pinch me” feeling every time. I won’t take it for granted!
It’s pretty amazing how much walking you can do in NYC! My favorite fitness studio is BIG Yoga in Houston. It’s a hot yoga studio and I try to practice 2-3 times a week depending on how I’m feeling. Happy Sunday friend! xoxo

If I had to pick one specific studio I think I would pick my yoga studio in Miami. Same thing- hot yoga and I try to go twice a week when I’m there. I love the community!
I love that you recapped your week! What a wonderful way to stay accountable. :)

Thanks, Pam! It’s nice to look back for motivation and workout options if I’m in a rut.
