Today is an extra happy Sunday because not only is it Father’s Day (shout out to my awesome dad), but my family just arrived for their weeklong vacation up north. We will be visiting our extended family and spending time together in the city. Posts may be sparse this week because I plan to spend my free time with them.
This week strength training made a comeback. I took two different strength/weight classes through ClassPass and really enjoyed them both. As for running, while last week felt great, this week I didn’t feel as strong. It happens. But I signed up for a half marathon in mid-July with my cousins (and I will FINALLY meet Sarah!) so I now I have a little more motivation when it comes to running. I’m not worried about “training” (which I won’t really do). I know I can run the distance, although I might not be my fastest, it’s just more a mental and time-management issue to get in the longer runs.
Sunday: 5 miles running + 12 miles of walking. I didn’t keep track of my steps other than this day, but I knew my friend and I walked a ton so I remembered to check my app.
Monday: 2 miles + 45 minute Upper Body/Core class at PushLab Fitness. I ran to Rockefeller Plaza to watch the TODAY Show because I had extra time that morning. James Taylor was performing an outdoor concert but I was more interested in trying to get on camera. Success.

There I am. Creeping in the back.
During the Upper Body/Core class we did a 5 minute cardio-focused warm-up and then started our circuits. 3 circuits, 2x through, 1 minute per exercise. I don’t remember the exact workout but it included plank variations with the TRX, kettlebell deadlifts, medicine ball sit-ups and TRX rows.
Tuesday: EVF Performance. This was the killer workout I talked about on Wednesday. 5 circuits, 6 minutes each, AMRAP in the 6 minutes. 2 minute rest in between. I remembered this workout…
Circuit 1
10 weighted sit-ups
15 push-ups
20 double unders or 40 single jumps (I did 40 singles)
Circuit 2
3 manmakers (first time doing these)
10 v-ups
40 mountain climbers (20 each leg)
Circuit 3
Stair sprints (I didn’t count but there were maybe 50ish steps?)
15 burpees
Circuit 4
200 m row
15 goblet squats
Circuit 5
150 m ski (new-to-me machine)
10 overhead lunges
Wednesday: 5.75 miles, half in Central Park and half on the streets (so I didn’t have all hills).
Thursday: Off.
Friday: 5 miles. Since I ran to the TODAY Show on Monday this time I ran in Central Park and caught a glimpse of the GMA Concert stage. Adam Lambert was performing but I was there way too early to even hear sound check.

Awful picture but I didn’t stop running to take it.
Saturday: 6.2 miles.
Happy Sunday, happy Father’s Day, happy happy.
12 miles of walking…that’s IMPRESSIVE! HAHAHA I love that you are creeping in the background. Too funny…I need to focus on some strength this week…Thanks for the inspiration! :)

I love it too and am spoiled that I get to do it! There are some cool performers this summer so hopefully I can run to a concert and actually stay to watch it.
