Running felt great this week. I’ve enjoyed running a little bit longer than normal, partially completely due to the nicer weather. Also, as much as I say I “hate” hills, I think I’m starting to like them. Scratch that, I like how they make me feel AFTER I’m done. Central Park’s rolling hills are no joke when you’re used to pancake flat sidewalks.
I still walked a good amount every day but stopped keeping track because I don’t care about the number. As long as I’m moving and staying active I’m good. Plus the constant walking is pretty common in the city so it doesn’t feel all that special anymore. I’ll regret saying that when I’m back to driving everywhere in Miami.
Sunday: 5.25 miles at and 8:42 min/mi pace. I did the Central Park Reservoir loop, which is my current favorite path.
Monday: Off. I contemplated running after my first day of work but I was too exhausted and hungry. Food and TV won over.
Tuesday: 6.25 miles at an 8:37 min/mi pace. I ran up along Central Park West (the sidewalk right outside the park) for 2 miles and then cut over into the park. I did a reservoir loop and a finished near Columbus Circle.
Wednesday: TrampoLEAN. More on this class soon. You can probably figure it out though…it was a trampoline fitness class.
Thursday: 6 miles at an 8:44 min/mi pace along the Hudson River and through Riverside Park. I unintentionally had negative splits because the way out was so windy.
Friday: Vinyasa yoga. With all the walking, especially in heels, it felt nice to yoga-it-out. I’m not anywhere near as flexible as I was just a few months ago but that’s expected when you don’t practice regularly. I’m not concerned.
Saturday: 6.2 miles + spin class with Ali from Inspiralized! I’ll share more tomorrow :)
I still haven’t done weights in a while but I’ve just wanted to be outside every chance I get. They’ll make an appearance eventually.
Ah! That is so cool you went to the spin class Ali hosted yesterday! I can’t wait to hear all about it! :)

All about the outdoor workouts and no I don’t track my steps…I cannot wait to hear about the spin class. That outdoor space looks awesome. Also, NJ and NY are surprisingly very hilly. I miss those runs, it helped me so much with my training. Just like FLA…Houston is SO FLAT. Jealous you get to walk everywhere! :)

I definitely prefer outdoor workouts! On some days, it may be the longest amount of time I spend outside, and days spent all inside just make me restless.
And I’m excited to hear about your trampoline class! When I was growing up, my mom had a mini trampoline with DVDs and would do trampoline workouts haha :)

You are enjoying hills?! Okay, you are pretty dang cool. Seriously- I don’t think I will ever actually utter those words! It’s my dream to go for a run around central park. You are living the dream!
