Another week, another workout recap. It started off on a high note with my longest run since February, which was just the confidence boost I needed for the half marathon this coming weekend. Actually, because I did my long run on Sunday, this was the highest week of mileage in a long time. Next week will likely decrease a lot.
Sunday: 10 miles. I changed up my route for this run and ran along both the Hudson and East Rivers, cutting across Canal street. It was a quiet morning after the 4th so there weren’t many cars to stop for.

Hello, beautiful Freedom Tower.
Monday: BODYPUMP + CX Works at 24 Hour Fitness. We did the warm-up, squats, chest and back tracks in BODYPUMP before moving to CX Works. I didn’t love all the tracks in CX but appreciated the core work, which I typically neglect.
Tuesday: 5 miles in Central Park. I was surprised with my fast (for me) pace of 8:18 min/mile. Makes me wonder if my Run Keeper app is accurate…
Wednesday: 4.25 miles in Central Park. This was not pretty, but I was bound to have a rough run after a good streak. Just goes to show that every day/run is different even if the route is almost identical! My legs felt heavy the entire time.
Thursday: TRX Cardio Mash-Up. I talked about this class on Friday, but I love using the TRX so this was a good workout.
Friday: 5.25 miles. Slowish but felt better than Tuesday. The last mile it started to drizzle so I ran a little faster to make it back before the downpour.
Saturday: 6.5 miles. I ran from my place to Columbia University and back. I felt smarter just being on the campus. It’s so beautiful! It’s also crazy to me how there is an actual college campus in the city.

No filter here. The grass was really that green.
Today (Sunday) is yoga/rest/sleep/eat/sun….pretty much my ideal day, especially after working yesterday. Talk soon!
Awesome week! I had a similar run this week where my legs were super heavy and it just didn’t feel right. I often run variations of the same route. My town is on the bigger side but there aren’t many great/safe places to run!

I typically run a variation of the same route when I’m in Miami for the same reason. I’m so spoiled this summer!
How wonderful to run in the city with no cars. Looks beautiful.

If I go early enough there are so few cars that it feels like a different city!
those are gorgeous run pics. and the sunset through the grid is so pretty from today. i run the same few routes but vary it up a bit. a lot of my longer runs are done on the “towpath” a huge long bike/walk/hike, etc trail in NE ohio that stretches for miles and miles and miles. i just go to different entrances to vary up my workout. i went to akron u (northeast ohio) which at that time was a pretty large commuter campus (~25K students) but now has turned into a bit more of a traditional campus with roads closing and more green space being added. it worked for me.
I usually have a set path for my longer runs too. The shorter/mid-distance is where I vary it the most!
I went to William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA! Girl…you got in a lot of mileage this week and I 100% agree that that 10 mile run would be a great way to kick off the new week. High-Fives!

I’ve heard that’s a beautiful campus. As much as I prefer Saturday long-runs, Sunday runs start the week off on a very high note.
