Hello from Miami! Just popping in for a quick recap of my workouts from this week (but more on my transition back tomorrow). All of my workouts, except for yesterday’s not-so-fun long run, were done at home so everything was pretty standard. The next recap might look a little different as I try to get into the swing of things and figure out my new schedule.
Monday: 4 miles + yoga with my mom
Tuesday: Body Pump/ CX Works. It was my last Body Pump for a while and I got lucky that it was a new release (new-to-me, at least).
Wednesday: 7 miles. Surprise, surprise, it was SUPER hot. I ran 3 miles outside and 4 inside on the treadmill. On the treadmill I did 400 & 800 meter repeats with equal distance recovery (3 rounds of each) plus warm-up and cool down.
Thursday: 4 miles outside with my mom and dad…just your typical 6 am family group run. I wanted to get in one last run with my family before I left, even if it meant an early wake-up call.
Friday: Rest. I had an all-day orientation for one of my jobs followed by a KIND event. I was in a chair pretty much the entire day so I accomplished the “stay off your feet” part of rest day. But I was exhausted. 9 am-9 pm on campus was a lot for me (especially for a “rest” day) so I decided to adjust Saturday’s run…
Saturday: 13.1 miles (8.6 outside, 4.5 inside). I had 15 miles on my schedule but a) I chose to “sleep-in” until 6:45 and didn’t even get started with the run until 7:15 (hello, heat!) and b) my body wasn’t in prime running condition. I was not as hydrated as I should have been and I was emotionally and physically drained from the transition back to school. So I decided mid-run to switch my run from next week (13.1) with this week’s (15). I also had to make some emergency bathroom stops, which is always fun. Oddly enough my legs felt fine and I could have kept going at a slower pace. However, I chose quality > quantity.
Sunday: Rest or yoga. I really love my yoga studio down here so I might squeeze in a class today. I need to buy a class package first ($$$) so we’ll see what the bank account says haha..
